Affirmation Deprivation

Affirmation Deprivation

Today I want you to take a look around and see the lack of affirmation in the world in which most of us live.  I say “most of us” because there are some that know and understand the up most importance of an affirming and abundant mindset.  Yet, you can still acknowledge and see the suffering that is going on in the world.

When did we become so busy that we stopped taking the time to say hello to people passing on the street?  Or when did we as a society make it an appropriate action to be on the phone while checking out at the store – leaving the cashier shut out and unacknowledged?  I would like to challenge each of you that are brave enough to engage in this conversation to affirm out loud each and every day! Please be mindful that you can only affirm to the level that you affirm yourself so self care is the first on the list.

ONE criticism can wipe out an entire month of affirmation.  Be with that for a moment. ONE criticism can wipe out an entire month of affirmation.  Choose your words carefully, you and only you, are responsible for how your communication lands in the listening of others.  How do you do this you ask? Check in with the people that you are communicating with; “Hey I really intended this to land for you as loving and supportive and I want to check in with you to ensure I was responsible in that – was I?”  Now, I get that the confronting the landing of your communication is going to feel unnatural at first and that’s okay this is a new level of communicating – just like anything in life – practice makes perfect.

Here is how I choose to start my day:

I am an amazing human being, living an incredibly blessed life.  I am worthy of all things wonderful. I grow and learn each day. I let go of regrets from the past as they hold me there and prevent me from experiencing the now.

I may have experienced true heartache in my lifetime AND through that time I have discovered deep compassion.

I do not feel the need to compete against anyone or be better than anybody else.

I aspire only to be a better person than I was yesterday.

I am grateful that I am given each new day to: Grow, Learn, and LOVE

Thanks for reading and what makes this a TRANSFORMATIONAL message is the ACTION it motivates you to take.  You get to choose what comes out of your mouth. You get to choose to be in self care. You get to choose to be in action around affirming the people around you.  You get to choose. Make it a point to support a stranger today – feel the fear and do it anyway. Choose to be love.

Possibility makes life a game worth playing!
